Ocean Bank is seeking an ABL Collateral Risk Management for the Asset Based Lending Department. This role leads complex internal and outsourced field examinations, assesses collateral quality and borrowing-base integrity, and helps identify emerging risks across the portfolio. Partners with clients, internal stakeholders, and third-party examination providers; communicates meaningful findings and recommendations; guides field examiners; and helps strengthen the Bank’s collateral-risk framework through consistent oversight, quality control, and continuous improvement.

  • Coordinate examination schedules with clients, internal stakeholders, and third-party providers to support timely and efficient completion.
  • Direct the preparation, review, and quality control of workpapers and reports, ensuring collateral exceptions, ineligibles, reserves, and borrowing-base impacts are accurately supported and documented.
  • Prepare and review comprehensive examination reports that clearly communicate collateral quality, identified risks, borrowing-base implications, and well-supported recommendations.
  • Evaluate third-party examination scope, testing quality, findings, and required follow-up actions using independent judgment.
  • Communicate significant findings, collateral exceptions, borrowing-base impacts, and emerging risks to key stakeholders to support informed credit decisions and risk mitigation.
  • Maintain productive relationships with third-party providers and promote consistent ABL methodology, collateral-testing standards, and reporting expectations.
  • Develop and enhance audit programs, templates, workpapers, reporting tools, sampling methodologies, and collateral-testing procedures.
  • Provide training, technical guidance, and review support to field examiners.
  • Review collateral documentation, security agreements, UCC filings, liens, and control agreements; identify and monitor documentation or perfection exceptions.
  • Oversee collateral monitoring activities, including insurance coverage, appraisals, lien continuations, collateral releases, loan payoff, account closure, record retention, and file-closing requirements.
  • Oversee the ABL field examination budget and review, track, and reconcile examination invoices against approved scope and budget.
  • Lead or support enhanced collateral reviews and due diligence for higher-risk borrowers or transactions requiring director-level loan committee approval.
  • Maintain and reconcile the ABL watchlist and monitor borrower information, requirements, and risk indicators.
  • Evaluate industries, business operations, performance drivers, and economic, regulatory, and technical developments that may affect collateral quality and the Bank’s risk position.
