Overview

Ocean Bank is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Desktop Support Technician to provide hands-on comprehensive technical assistance and user support for employees across the Bank.  Provides technical assistance to users, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of desktop computers within the Bank. 

Responsibilities

  • Install, upgrade, support, and troubleshoot printers, computer hardware, and other authorized peripheral equipment.
  • Performs general preventative maintenance tasks, diagnoses and resolves software, hardware, and network issues, and ensures desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems.
  • Resolve desktop and microcomputer-related technical problems in both local and remote environments, performing regular system backups and recovery operations on workstations, and maintaining user account data, including access rights, security protocols, and system group assignments at the workstation level.
  • Contribute to inventory management and participate in projects such as system migrations, software upgrades, and related initiatives.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, possess excellent communication skills, and exhibit the capacity to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Education/Experience

Requirements

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology.
  2. 3+ years of experience in Desktop support, microcomputer hardware and software installation and maintenance.
  3. Basic understanding of LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN connections, TCP/IP, and Active Directory.
  4. Experience with ticketing systems and remote desktop software.
  5. Must have reliable transportation to assist with branch visits requirements.

Skills & Competencies

  1. Ability to work with various levels of personnel in the organization.
  2. Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  3. Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills.
  4. Combine problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of software, hardware, and networking systems.
  5. Computer proficient in MS Software, (e.g. Excel, Word, and Outlook).

 

Preferences

  • Microsoft and AS400 systems training.

 

Licenses/Certifications

  • CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certifications preferred.
