Overview

Ocean Bank is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to deliver comprehensive technical assistance and user support.

Responsibilities

Desktop Support Technician provides technical assistance to users, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of desktop computers within the Bank.  He/she must combine problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of software, hardware, and networking systems. Responsibilities include installing, upgrading, supporting, and troubleshooting printers, computer hardware, and other authorized peripheral equipment.  Also, performs general preventative maintenance tasks, diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and network issues, and ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems. The incumbent will be responsible for resolving desktop and microcomputer-related technical problems in both local and remote environments, performing regular system backups and recovery operations on workstations, and maintaining user account data, including access rights, security protocols, and system group assignments at the workstation level. The Desktop Support Technician will contribute to inventory management, and participate in projects such as system migrations, software upgrades, and related initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, possess excellent communication skills, and exhibit the capacity to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.

Qualifications

Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology.
  2. Three (3) years of experience in Desktop support, microcomputer hardware and software installation and maintenance.
  3. Must have reliable transportation to assist with branch visits requirements.
  4. Computer proficient in MS Software, (e.g. Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  5. Combination of education and experience will be considered.

 

Preferred:

  • Microsoft and AS400 systems training preferred.

  1. Must be able to work with various levels of personnel in the organization.
  2. Must possess strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, written and verbal communication skills.
  3. Must be able to handle confidential and sensitive information.
