The Asset-Based Field Examiner supports the Asset-Based Lending Department by conducting in-depth field examinations of both existing and prospective borrowers.
This includes evaluating financial records, collateral eligibility, and operational conditions to assess risk and ensure loan compliance. Responsible for preparing work papers to support field exam conclusions and audit trail requirements, prioritize and summarize field examination findings in a detailed field examination report outlining the results, borrower risks, and recommendations for the Bank’s internal use. The examiner formulates recommendations to help guide decision-making, protect collateral value, and align with Ocean Bank’s lending objectives and risk management strategies and is responsible for discussing audit findings with the manager, Relationship Manager, the Credit department, and other appropriate partners. In addition, assists with month-end borrowing base analysis, including reviewing and reconciling borrowing base certificates (BBCs) submitted by borrowers & identifying discrepancies between field exam results and month-end reports to highlight collateral or reporting inconsistencies. Provides support with processing loan fundings verifying the validity and sufficiency of collateral before fundings are approved.
