Overview

The Personal Banking Officer in Commercial Lending is responsible for providing personalized support to Relationship Manager(s) in all phases of customer service, client relationship building, and account maintenance.

Responsibilities

Assists with the management of relationships, such as with gathering of loan documents, loan payments, customer transactions, document preparations, account servicing/maintenance, loans, credit analysis, return item processing, customer service inquiries, problem resolution, and other general administrative support.   Profiles customers to ensure KYCs are updated and completed in a timely manner and performs periodic contacts/checkpoints with customers to meet KYC standards to provide beneficial services.  Understands the customers’ background to identify their needs to provide them with product benefits and cross-sell products; clearly communicates solutions.   Approves or returns overdraft/uncollected items up to authorized limit.    This position also provides administrative support with managing and maintaining the Relationship Manager(s) schedule, coordinating travel arrangements, answering and screening incoming calls, making meeting arrangements, providing support at meetings, and preparing the monthly expense report.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance preferred, with two (2) years of banking experience required, directly related to servicing customers in retail banking branch operations, or a Two Year College Degree with a minimum of five (5) years of banking experience required, directly related to servicing customers in retail banking branch operations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Insurance knowledge with underwriting, BSA Compliance, Ethics, Legal Aspects of Banking (involving real estate closings and loans on default) is preferred.
  • Must be able to understand and implement job related policies and procedures.
  • Must be knowledgeable of internal bank operations (wire transfers, debits/credits and loan payments) and of banking products to cross-sell.
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills.  
  • Computer knowledgeable in MS Office Software, (Excel, Word, and Outlook, Power Point).  
  • Experience working in a team (sales and service), and high-quality service advocacy.
  • Knowledge of the completion of KYC is required. Comprehension of banking laws and applicable compliance regulations is required.
