Overview

The Lending Assistant is responsible for assisting Branch Manager/Relationship Manager with portfolio management; developing new and servicing existing customers with the origination, processing, underwriting and closing of loans.

Responsibilities

This position handles new customers and manages existing loans for both consumer and commercial products; assists Relationship Managers in managing and growing the overall loan portfolio and ensuring regulatory compliance; and serves as an internal point of contact for customers, playing a key role in developing relationships and ensuring excellent customer service.  Also responsible for collecting, monitoring, and analyzing financial data as it relates to loans including, but not limited to: preparation of Deal Memorandums, review of Personal Financial Statements, Waivers, Memorandums and letters of Intent for both C&I and CRE Loans.  Assists Relationship Managers in the coordination and flow of credit applications through the analysis process; with the preparation of presentations on loans and pipeline; performing the annual reviews and/or modifications for both C&I and CRE Loans; and work with Relationship Managers, peers, and other parties to coordinate timely closings and ensuring that all required documentation is received.  Candidate conducts client visits and site visits with Relationship Manager when necessary; assists with KYC profiling and assists the BSA review team for monitoring of suspicious activity and high risk accounts.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field of study such as Accounting or Finance and one (1) to three (3) years of related experience in Credit Analysis; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Credit Analysis training is required.
  • Must be able to understand and implement job related policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an active knowledge base of all of the Bank’s loan products and an understanding of the qualifications required to assist customers.
  • Must possess strong credit skills and be knowledgeable of credit policies and have working knowledge of credit and financial analysis, including cash flow analysis, balance sheet analysis, profitability, liquidity, and solvency analysis.
